COOL BUILDER ALERT!!!!

It's been a while since I found a builder who does some things that are just so unbelievably freaking cool that I just stare at their website in disbelief, loosing track of time, and finding myself unable to think about anything other than what I'll have to do to own one. The last time I remember being that blown away was probably in 2005, when I stumbled upon Nash Guitars, back when you could custom order instruments directly form Bill Nash. The next time was probably the Chad Underwood/Destroy All Guitars Telstar Strat/Tele hybrid.

Now, Dennis Fano of Fano Guitars has miraculously found a way to top them all. He builds what look like "mash-ups" of super groovy vintage instruments that look like they were built during the golden age of electric guitars. How about a cross between a Tele and a Silvertone/Danelectro with Gretsch pickups?? No problem...

Jazzmaster with P90's or a Les Paul Special with a Tele bridge and pickup?

How about a relic'd version of a cross between an early Rickenbacker and Neil Young's Les Paul?

Check the website for dealers and more pictures of these crazy creations. They seem to be right around $2K USD new. Pretty damn cool. If they sound as good as they look, they'd be pretty hard to beat if you're looking for something that you wont see every week at the blues jam. Here is a thread about them on The Gear Page.
